For the application of a Colombian visa, according to resolution 6045 of 2017, the visa authority could require the applicant to submit judicial records from his country.

The Swiss judicial record certificate can be requested virtually through this link, following the steps below:

1. Define the type of background information required:
   • Classic: For any type of destination. Any person can apply for it, for him/herself.
     • Content: Includes all sentences relating to crimes and misdemeanors, within a certain time limit.
   • Special: For activities involving regular contact with minors or other vulnerable persons. It can only be requested with specific confirmation from the employer, organization or competent authority.
     • Content: Includes sentences containing a prohibition on the exercise of a certain profession or activity, contact or being in a geographical location, pronounced for the purpose of protecting minors or other vulnerable persons, while the prohibition is in force.
2. a. If the classic extract is required:
   • 1. Click on the button that says: “Continuer vers l’extrait <<classique>>”.
   • 2. Click on the button that says: “Lancer la commande”.
   • 3. Click on the button that says: “Saisie des données”.
   • 4. Fill in the requested information.
3. b. If the special extract is required:
   • 2. Click on the button that says: “Continuer vers l’extrait <<spécial>>”.
   • 3. Click on the button that says: “Commencer la commande”.
4. If requested by the employer or organization:
   • 4.1. Select the option “Continuer vers la confirmation de l’employeur”.
   • 4.2. Click on the button that says: “Confirmation de l’employeur/organisation/authorité compétente/association”.
   • 4.3. Fill in the requested information.
5. If requested by a private individual, with the employer’s authorization:
   • 5.1. Select the option “Continue to order the special extract from the court case for private individuals”.
   • 5.2. Click on the button that says: “Commande de l’extrait spécial”.
   • 5.3. Click on the button that says: “Saisie des données”.
   • 5.4. Enter the confirmation code contained in the confirmation document received from the employer or organization.
   • 5.5. Fill in the requested information.
