Colombian visa fee waiver for Spaniards

Resolution 0576 of 2023, which adjusts the fees to be paid by users for the services provided by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, for the Revolving Fund of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Article 3, paragraph 2, provides for exemptions in visa fees, which are:

1. Migrant visa issued to a foreigner recognized as a refugee in Colombia.
2. The value to be paid at the stage of issuance of a visitor’s visa for boat crew members will be exempted for those members of fishing vessels, whose activity is developed in the areas surrounding San Andres, Providencia and Santa Catalina.
3. The cost of the visa issuance stage for Ecuadorian nationals will be free of charge. The fee for the study stage will be 23 euros if requested in the euro zone or Cuba and 30 USD if requested in the rest of the world.
4. Nationals of Japan and the Republic of Republic of Korea will cancel only the amount corresponding to the study stage of the application, which will be the one that corresponds to the class and/or type of visa requested.
5. The nationals of the Republic of Peru, who settle in the Amazon and Putumayo river basins, will only pay the amount corresponding to the study stage of the application, which will be the one that corresponds to the class and/or type of visa requested.
6. Nationals of the Plurinational State of Bolivia will only pay the amount corresponding to the study stage of the application for visitor or migrant visas authorized exclusively for activities within the framework of an academic training program, which will correspond to 12 euros if requested in the Euro zone and Cuba, and 16 USD if requested in the rest of the world.
7. The fee to be paid during the study stage of a visitor visa requested exclusively for activities within the framework of an academic training program will be 12 Euros if requested in the Euro zone and Cuba, and 16 USD if requested in the rest of the world. The amount to be paid at the expedition stage will be 17 euros if requested in the Euro zone and Cuba, and 21 USD if requested in the rest of the world.
8. The fee to be paid at the stage of issuance of a type V visa in the tourist category or for airport transit will be 40 euros if requested in the Euro zone and Cuba and 52 USD if requested in the rest of the world. The value corresponding to the study stage of the application will be that which corresponds to the type of visa requested.
9. The study of application and issuance of visa type V Courtesy and type C Vacation and Work, agreed by Colombia with other States through treaties in force, will be free of charge.
10. The cost of the study and issuance of the visa for Spanish nationals will be free of charge.

Thus, it is clear that there is an express exemption from visa fees for Spaniards contemplated in the resolution. It should be noted that visa policies and entry requirements may change over time as they depend on bilateral relations between countries.
